Scots dad tells of heartache after immigration laws prevent his Japanese wife

i've not had time to read all this, but I'm surprised she got a family visit visa, for exactly this reason

A SCOT is heartbroken after immigration rules barred his family from coming to his homeland to live with him.

Reading the article it sounds like they pitched up at the airport and after questioning she was stamped in as a 6 month tourist. More fool them for not dealing with it properly in Japan

I haven't read the full story - it does sound like the guy botched up the system a bit.

He's trying to come across as the victim but rules are rules.

Maybe I'm being a bit simplistic but if all he needs to earn is an extra 4K a year then why not get an extra part time job for a while - maybe work in a bar pulling pints for a couple of nights a week. If that was all that was stopping me from getting my wife & baby to the UK then that is what I'd be doing rather than writing letters to the tabloids and moaning about my "human rights". What would be the problem in that?

I know rules are rules and all that but there are many people like this guy that are in the same situation .there are millions of people on minimum wages so what the goverment are saying is your poor and we gone screw you even more and stop you having a family life.same ol tories if ya well off you can bring ya family in ,to me thats discrimination on a massive scale

I can apppreciate that too tiger31 (Brian ?).

If so many parasites , liars, cheats and fraudsters from other countries hadn't screwed up the system, our pathway to happiness would perhaps not have been made so rocky....not to mention the 1,000s of layabouts here already, sucking us dry.
