What kind of mickey mouse research is this ?

    88 in the sample ?

"Nonetheless, our data add to current evidence that e-cigarettes may not increase rates of smoking cessation,"

    What utter crap.

Anyway, I've stopped, and my e-cig ran out ages ago...though I'd rather use one of those, minus the stink and 1,000s of poisonous chemicals going into my lungs.

You either WANT to stop or you don't.

Oh, and clearly the tobacco industry is behind this campaign against e-cigs.

How stupid do these people think we are ?

I get a feeling that the tobacco industry and governments have an interest in putting up all manner of barriers when it comes to e-ciggies

Yes, possibly more-so in the States, with the powerful tobacco farming lobby.

As usual, it's about backhanders, corruption and maximising the tax dollars going into the treasury.

A successful e-cig market will step on too many greedy toes.

As one would expect the EU have put their oar in to over regulate and restrict availability http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-26370871

Agreed..and the EU will end up making the rules so complicated that the whole thing will go underground..
Another drug cartel in the making... Mark my words.

Personally, I don't envisage e-cigs "catching on" BIG style in the long-term. ... they're weirsh, tasteless things - which most definitely cannot replace the satisfaction to be derived from proper tobacco products.

Admittedly ... ... I've partially sampled only one - bought in the local Poundland store - but it offered me so little satisfaction that it's lain (otherwise) untouched in a kitchen cupboard for months now!

I tried them a number of times but just couldn't get on with them for the very reasons you mentioned Arthur......
