I think there is a load of bull said about Multinationals setting up here only because Britain is in the EU. I deal with a couple of very large healthcare product manufacturers who have their HQ's and European Distribution in the low countries because of the shipping/transport links, favourable tax regimes and the availabilty of intelligent English speaking staff. They're put off the UK by our available workers mainly being dubious characters speaking little known slavonic dialects and the costly Eurotunnel and ferries involvement in moving goods.
On the other hand we do have the likes of Amazon and Starbucks employing hordes of Eastern Eurotrash here whilst they are conveniently registered for corporation tax in Ireland and Luxemburg
