I've seen quite a few of his interviews.....what a character and what an interesting and eventful life.
He's a good speaker and doesn't hold back with his stories.
RIP
Good man, RIP!
... no surprises the responses to *this thread've been outnumbered several times over by *those relating to the tragically untimely demise of someone young enough to be its subject's great-granddaughter.
Aside from being a generational issue ... ... it once again goes to show that a person's level of fame is NOT always determined by how long they've lived.
Well worth a read

Heard on the radio this morning that he'd been in over 340 films
Very interesting read
And........a connection to the Philippines (and also to a recent forum thread on the subject of true friends):-
..In 1966, while Rooney was working on the film Ambush Bay in the Philippines, his wife Barbara Ann Thomason (akas: Tara Thomas, Carolyn Mitchell), a former pinup model and aspiring actress who had won 17 straight beauty contests in Southern California, was found dead in their bed. Beside her was her lover, Milos Milos, an actor friend of Rooney's. Detectives ruled it murder-suicide, which was committed with Rooney's own gun.
