Well its all done, change from the Nat West to Lloyds today, it should take the 7 days, I think I am happy but time will tell.

I was with Nat West for over 40 years Steve, I closed the a/c in 2006 after running alongside Nationwide for the last ten years, so in the end chose Nationwide because it seemed a more homely and friendly bank. Nothing wrong with Nat West, but in latter years it seemed to become too industrious for me!
Thats my thinking too Michael, they seem to just want the business end now not joe public, just my thoughts
I had my account in Natwest for 14 years; their service is great but I was lured by the £100 extra offered by Halifax and another £5 each month when you pay in a thousand. No regrets... Yet.
I was happy too with Nat West but the last few months when they reduced the ISA rate, that to me was the last straw, this new £15000 ISA I think will be good for me and maybe others too
Along with a Nationwide Flex Account I've got a Santander 123 ( even though they're Spanish)
They charge £2.00 per month but you get back :-
1% on water, council tax bills and Santander mortgage payments1
2% on gas and electricity bills
3% on mobile phone, home phone,
1% AER/gross (variable) on balances from £1,000.
2% AER/1.98% gross (variable) on balances from £2,000.
3% AER/2.96% gross (variable) on balances from £3,000 and up to a maximum of £20,000.
You have to set up 2 direct debits (these are needed to get the cash back above) and stick £500 a month in it
Its up and running,
The end of this month my old account will be closed and all monies should be all in my new account, just have to get used to the outlook of the new account,
