    Easter Break in Rome

Hi everyone, thought I would post some photos from our Easter weekend trip to Rome.

We went to the Colosseum, we saw lots of sights and especially The Vatican where we visited the museums, the Sistine Chapel and a lot MORE! We also attended the Easter Mass in St Peter's Square and saw His Holiness Pope Francis.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

P.S. Book your ticket in advance to the Colosseum and Vatican Museum. Otherwise, you will lose your day in a very big queue! Also, ask the price before ordering your ice cream. Trefor paid €29.00 !
    Don't just try, DO IT!

Nice pics - sounds like a good trip other than the ice cream merchants, I'd have rammed it in his face

Confirms my statement #2 (I understand Rome and Venice are the places to avoid as they're rip off HQ ) in this thread

We had sat down in what looked like a normal cafe away from the sights. My mistake to just order 2 ice creams from the waitress without seeing the menu - 2 desert glass things filled with about 3 scoops of ice cream and 2 squirts of cheap cream + a mini wafer. One was 18 Euros and the other 15 Euros. My own silly mistake for not checking the menu before ordering.

Definitely book the main attractions in advance, though. The queue for the Colloseum was nearly as big as that for the Vatican Museums. I must have saved us 5 hours of waiting in total.
