So you applied for a new passport at least 7 months before your last one expired and they were ok with this? Did they add on all the months to your new passport or only 6 months plus 5 years?

They don't add up the months left. You can renew a Philippine passport whenever you want it. There's no minimum validity requirement. They even renew expired ones.
