The Long Good Friday, an exceptional film with some great and very convincing acting by Bob...followed of course by his Hollywood work and world fame.

    RIP sir.

I've always had the opinion that the media made him a lot more famous than he actually was. Even now, when they talk about him, they have to dig up some old films from the early 90's.

    According to Wikipedia :-

Hoskins had a small role as a rock band's manager in the Pink Floyd film The Wall. He was slated to be a last-minute replacement in the film The Untouchables if star Robert De Niro had not decided to play Al Capone. When De Niro took the part, director Brian De Palma mailed Hoskins a cheque for £20,000 with a "Thank You" note, which prompted Hoskins to call up De Palma and ask him if there were any more movies he didn't want him to be in.

I don't think it's his fame that's prompting so much attention. I believe it's his personality talent and humility.
He made some good films and some bad films. He was an actor who was never out of work or out of demand. Highly recognisable.

    Just my take....

I've heard of a sleeping partner, but you're in a coma

    RIP Bob Hoskins
