Vicar’s anger as two friends are refused entry to UK

“I am incensed,” said Mr Lindop.

“They are my friends and have been coming to Britain for years. Their life and work are in India and they have always gone home. There is no reason for them not to.
well that's about right, if you've got money you can come, if not you can't, i wonder how he would be if it was a family member and not just friends, at least he knows the reality of applying for a visit visa for many people leads to a refusal

    From the linked write-up:-
“Applicants must provide evidence to show they meet the requirements of the UK immigration rules, including personal and financial circumstances.”
They say that the Jains have not provided enough information of their personal and financial circumstances, and that Mr Lindop has not supplied information to prove that he could afford to shoulder their costs.
According to the report it seems that neither the applicants nor the sponsor supplied the required evidence.

Visit visa's can be problematic as decisions are made on 'balance of probability', intention and ECO discretion.......it's so important to submit appropriate strong and solid supporting documentation.

Visa's cannot be granted on implied integrity based on being a Vicar or an MP. IMO

You are blowing it up Joe . Last year 20% had family related visas refused. That figure is better than the 70% success rate for white/Asian marriages. It's just tough luck for the minority.

... apart (obviously) from the likes of the "Reverend" Flowers and/or shameless clergy who (knowingly) conduct ceremonies for illegal immigrants ... one cannot compare the average vicar with those two scallywags.

However, I'll grant you, a lot fewer MPs are quite so trustworthy.

I'll do a link when I eventually get home.

I noticed another little surprise stat. 18% of student visa recipients stayed on and got themselves differing forms of settlement.
