    Waiting game

I submitted my application form and supporting documents on 2nd of April 2014, tho I am not in a rush to get the result of my visa application, I have e-mailed UKVI for some tracking of my documents because they didn't text me anymore after 2nd of April. Until now, I am not receiving a text about the progress of my application. I got a response from them about my tracking enquiry, so they said that my papers hasnt been assessed, does it mean that no one hasnt touched my papers after a month and 9 days? It is making me nervous plus seeing forum members here wait for long months, my provisional wedding day is on July, would they take it against us? I mean, if theres no results yet and July is coming, will the paper for provisional booking that we submitted become senseless?

The time frame of settlement visa is until 6 months right? So we have no right to complain. hahaha. But personally id rather wait for a long time as long as officers are really investigating it and will have a positive outcome than get negative results in just a short period of time

So I would just love to give the applicants who are waiting, a big and tight hug. Good things come to those who wait.

Also, I honestly think that visa application process will be simpler, easy and less hassle soon, examples are they've already given ways and where we can contact them, minimum financial requirement is being reviewed to make it more reasonable and another news is CFO will have booking appointment online those were just few good changes about this whole thing, which looks like it will be stress-free one day the only bad part is our applications now are in the middle of changes and transition that's why we are confused and surprised by the big changes and ofcourse, long wait. Any way, I am wishing the best luck to us. xxxx

I have the same worries also about the provisional booking as it is dated on 5th of May. I haven't emailed them and hoping that it will not affect my application. I lodged mine on 26th of February.

Mine's only more than 3 weeks since I lodged it. I got a reply from them on the 30th of April saying:

Dear Cherrie, Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigrations international enquiry service. We are not able to give any information about the decision of the Home Office. Currently your application is in the process. Once the decision have been made you will be notified. Please be patient as this may take a few days. Please note, unless you are using a priority service, our standards say that we will process: 90 per cent of non-settlement applications within 3 weeks, 98 per cent within 6 weeks and 100 per cent within 12 weeks of the application date; and 95 per cent of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the application date and 100 per cent within 24 weeks of the application date. We define 1 week as 5 working days. We hope that this has answered your query. For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/ We would like to invite you to participate in a brief survey about the service you received from us to identify strengths and opportunities for improvements. Thank you in advance for your time. https://www.surveymonkeys.com/s/ukvi-csat Many thanks, Christine Gale UKVI

Basically Jen you're in a queue and depending on how many applications the ECO's have to sort at the time, then its a case of just waiting your turn so who knows maybe 6, 7 or 8 weeks or more before it comes to the top and gets assessed.

It looks like its taking longer at the moment as I can see from other people have been waiting more than 10 weeks with one of our members receiving her visa at about 11 weeks from application so who knows.

My wife applied at 25 weeks pregnant and still waited 8 weeks before visa was issued which was a torturous wait as she flew to UK just on the verge of the cut off for flying in late pregnancy.

But to everyone in similar situations here just hold on there all will come good....Mark.....

Good luck to all who are waiting for their visas. If you think you are in a bad position, just think about my waiting time for my FLR(M) here in the UK. I waited for 10 months!

If we are waiting this long does that mean we will have a positive outcome? Or there still cases who get refused after waiting for long time?

In reality, not necessarily ... but my own feeling - looking at things from another (more optimistic) angle - is, if your application was going to be denied for any reason, then ... ... commonsense suggests it would've been returned to you before now. that's the best response I can offer meanwhile.

So please continue to maintain your positive outlook, Baruk.

Thanks for your positive reply Arthur. I have many questions in mind, as to why it takes ages for them to process the papers for me and my daughter. But yea I have to be positive. I know it will be victorious in the end. Cheers
