Ok I'll bite, why would you like to know the surnames
My mate lives in Gerrards Cross he paid £500k for the house in 1998. I've no qualms about that he's worked his way up from nothing, employs lots of people and pays untold in tax.
It's parasites like this lump milking the system that should concern you Andy
I have a few millionaires as customers, all worked hard to get there
Also used to pick up a lazy .... to take him to dole office to sign on
If i see him again and he is hard up I can ask Andy to forward the poor mite a few bob since he don't like people with money
I think you have missed the point. I bet they are mostly foreigners who have bought these properties. After all Cameron believes in selling off our assets.
Do we know if the former owners of these properties were Brit or foreign. Plenty of expensive new builds in London are being bought by Chinese - doesn't that bring foreign money into the economy. Of course the biggest sell off of our assets was our gold reserves 1999 - 2002
I didn't ask the question who the former owners were.
Looks like I will have to spell it out to a couple of you. I'm talking about English land being bought by foreigners.
Yes, it brings in foreign investment. The fact is, this is where I think the Philippines has got it right - it's difficult for a foriegner to own land there.
of course your wrong dedworth, BT was valued at £4billion back in 1984 and British gas was valued at roughly the same, and don't forget all the others (water, electric, Brit oil, British steel etc) she got over £50billion for her asset stripping, where did the £50 billion go ???
oh brown but this gov didn't learn from all these privatisations. last year they under valued the Royal mail by at least £750million
Oh ok, by knowing the surname then you know the nationality?
I might have a bet tomorrow at Doncaster.
So tell me, how would feel if your adopted child were to be successful and then refused the opportunity to purchase a property
What adopted daughter? And do you mean in this country?
Cheers Les.
I had best not give you a tip
I have 2 daughters born in England. And they pay tax and NI. How can they be denied?. And probably my stepchild will too. What I am against is these foreigners who just buy up homes here as a investment.
We did it in Spain I guess
Correct me if I'm wrong but the guy buying property in the Philippines will never own the land.
Well I'm telling you the gender. What I am saying is the land remains in the name of the filipino. If foreign investors buy property here, most of the time they buy the land with it. I think it is right for the land in the Philippines to remain in the name of the filipino. . That's the way it should be here in my opinion.
Leasing land in the Philippines on a long term basis is an option for foreigners or foreign corporations with more than 40 percent foreign equity. Under the Investor's Lease Act of the Philippines a foreign national and or corporation may enter into a lease agreement with Filipino landowners for an initial period of up to 50 years renewable once for an additional 25 years. Lease not own.
The Philippine constitution prohibits foreigners from purchasing land.
