    Problem in my birth certificate

    Hello everyone, Im new here.
    Thanx I find this website.
I need your advise, I will apply for a fiancee visa but I just discovered that theres an error in my birth certificate. The portion in my birthcertificate where to put my first name, by mistake it is my surname plus my first name.
For example: my name is Maria Cruz Lopez. My surname is Lopez and middle name is Cruz. The situation is this, in my birthcertificate, it written like this,,, Lopez Maria Cruz Lopez. so by mistake my surname and first name mix together. But in my passport, its Lopez, Maria Cruz. Are they going to just looked at my passport and not too strictly check my birthcertificate? Its a copy i got from the nso although I`ve been in the uk before for 2 months as visitor domestic helper, but because its only visitor visa i didnt need to submit my birthcertificate. Now im going to apply for a fiancee visa to marry my filipino fiance he is been living in uk for 12 years and he is uk citizen already.Do you think it will cause us a problem? Please advice what do i need to do. thank you very much.

    hi Imfree,

welcome to the forum..i think ud better sort out first ur birth certificate problem just to make sure everything will be alright before u submit ur application for a fiancee visa..

because on the checklist of requirements, birth certificate of the applicant is also necessary..

i remember there's a post here about failed fiancee visa application before because of birth cert too, u can use the search button here to check it..

i hope everything will be fine with u soon so ull be able to join ur fiance in UK..

    Goodluck and God bless..

    Kimmi

Get an annotation letter from your regional NSO office, just to say QC have been informed of the change, keep it with your Birth Certificate, then present your application, just be aware, your Filipino spouse to be cannot pass you British nationality if he acquired it through a work permit and indefinate leave to remain, you would have to qualify for British nationality under your own situation, howeve there is nothing preventing you from coming to UK as a fiancee, nor is there anything preventing you from obtaining indefinate leave to remain once you have met the rules.

    Best of luck.
