A couple of 40' containers would make an ideal home in Philippines!
After having worked and slept in them during Hong Kong's (tropical) summer, I can tell you that you'll be living in an oven.
By the time you've spent money on making them habitable....though they'll probably still look like the office in a car breaker's yard...may as well build a house that looks nice and is more in keeping with its Philippines surroundings.

I am still interested, and the one above is the sort of place I would build. The sleeping rooms would be in the containers and the living space would be outside of them.
Lots of shade, plus remember you can always use fridge container to keep cool.
Everything is possible if you set your mind to it.

Unless you live near a port or main road the chances are they would be unable to deliver a container.
