Lone Scotsman who cheered on England World Cup defeat is Glaswegian Celtic fan who 'loves Uruguay'

The Scottish fan seen wildly celebrating Luis Suarez’s winning goal against England can be revealed as a Formula One engineer who decided to adopt Uruguay in the World Cup after Scotland failed to qualify.

Wearing a tartan hat with Saltire held aloft, Mark McConville, who works for McLaren Petronas, stood out like a sore thumb as the TV camera panned across the celebrating fans.

Mr McConville, who lives in Northampton, is an avid Celtic fan who started following Ururguay in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa - and claimed to have kissed 500 Uruguayan woman after they reached the semi-final.

Probably lives in 'Little Scotland' (Corby)

That'll be the first UK ghost town if Scotland votes yes

So did I! I used to work beside a guy who even supported the Pakistani - or, indeed, ANY - cricket team that happened to be up against England, ... such were his anti-English sentiments ...

... daft ... most of us thought he was "batty" And I don't mean "Nora".

That bloke in the crowd, he looks a complete and utter parody. Are we sure he's really Scottish and not someone English out for a joke, who thinks the average Scotsman looks like the Russ Abbott character?

    You mean they don't?

Well, it cheered me up after watching that bag of .... pretending to be a World Cup team.

I think Scotland could beat England no problem and Australia would stuff us.
