    A little help please

Reading about when Harlene gets her Spouse visa she then needs to get a stamp in her passport from the CFO?

Can someone explain to me about this. I thought that once she gets the Spouse visa she is free to travel to the UK.

How does one go about getting this stamp?

CFO Sticker is necessary before Filipinos, Fiancees or Spouses of Foreigners can leave the Philippines to live in other country.

For Filipinos or Filipinas residing in the Philippines, there is an additional requirement before she can totally leave the country. She have to go through the CFO and get the certificate within the day while she is still waiting for her visa approval, or even after her fiancèe/ fiancè or spousal visa has been approved. This is the CFO Seminar, the equivalent of PDOS (Pred-Departure Orientation Seminar) for OFWs, or what they call, Guidance and Counseling Program for Spouses or Other Partners of Foreign Nationals.

According to the Commission on Filipino Overseas, the objective of the program is to mainly assist the integration of Filipinos in their host countries by educating them on the realities of international migration, preparing them to meet the practical, cultural and psychological challenges attandant to cross cultural marriage and migration.

Obtaining the certificate of attendance to the CFO Guidance and Counseling Program is a pre-requisite in getting her Passport stamped with CFO immigration registration sticker. Expect her to be denied of departure in Immigration at the airport if she have not accomplish this mandatory requirement prior to traveling.

... perhaps I ought to explain:

Whilst many of us Brits look upon the CFO requirement as nothing short of an inconvenient, time~consuming palaver dreamt up, most likely, as a money spinning racket by the Philippine Government (its purported objective being to protect the interests of Filipinos destined to live and/or work abroad) ... ... it IS, in fact, a prerequisite to such persons leaving the country.

    Thanks for the links.....

More traveling for Harlene then! it takes her 10 hours to get to Manila. Luckily she will stay at her Sisters when she has to go and do it. She also has to do her TB test still in Manila so I'll suggest she does them both during that trip...

While I mention the TB test, she asked me to ask if she is allowed to do the test as it involves Xrays and she is pregnant?

Any idea? I have no idea what the test involves so can't help

TB skin testing is considered both valid and safe throughout pregnancy. It does not affect the mother nor the baby. TB blood tests also are safe to use during pregnancy, but have not been evaluated for diagnosing TB infection in pregnant women. Other tests are needed to show if a person has TB disease...and that test would be the Chest X-ray. With Chest X-ray, the radiologist/radiology tech uses a special lead apron to cover the belly of a pregnant woman.

    So nothing to worry about.
