Good outcome
Glad to see the Briton stood his ground, and then the local citizens backed them up outside
Maybe they're not all vile creatures
Wow, he had some nerve, good for him!
We had a similar situation some years ago in a shopping mall in Jeddah, it was our fault though as I was wearing shorts and my wife had no headscarf on......
Scum of the stone age earth

Think you will find it's those who kicked off so themThe religious police
Friend of mine had that problem when working in Saudi. He was wearing a gold chain (think Lahnden car salesman) and a jumped up religious police told him to remove it.
Well, he was in one of his usually funny moods and decided to argue back. He told this guy to show him where in the Koran it said he couldn't wear it, and he would. After a lot of arguing he decided this wasn't worth it and took it off just to get away from the annoying little drip.
Point was, this was just someone deciding something looked too western and he thought he would abuse his power. We get them the world over - in this country don't you just know he'd be wearing a peaked cap.
He had a story of how on the plane out of Saudi, as soon as they left Saudi airspace, many women would go into the toilets, take off the robes and put on jeans and stylish blouses.
....ed up country
I left a suitable comment on the news report. No doubt it will not be published (no other comments are).
These stone age countries are an embarrassment to humanity.
Where are the human rights organisations when they're needed ?
Oh of course...busy consuming petroleum products and turning a blind eye.
