Try this lot they were mentioned in another thread about offering container shipping. I can't believe a 20 foot box is £4k

I remember it was going to cost me around £2500 back in 2000.

I sent 6 big Balikbayan boxes instead. (£500). Get rid of all the bulky furniture and you probably no longer need a container.

I do wish I'd sent my bicycle though, as it was so much better quality then the stuff you get in the Phils, plus the correct size for me.

They quote 4k for a 20ft container also.

With insurance and other 'ad-on stuff' you'll find the total cost creeps up.
It's a significant task packing stuff etc

Have you considered Balikbayan boxes ?
In addition to the regular sized boxes you'll find that the larger organisations like LBC and Forex also take your own custom size boxes.
I made a good half dozen from plywood recently for larger items that would not fit into a BB

    Food for thought.
Less issues for customs clearance too.

I am just thinking how much I may be taking over when we make the move.

    Not much, I hope.
