    Divorce in the UK

Can anyone pls enlighten me with this topic?opppsss..pls dont get me wrong, I am surely deeply madly inlove with my chuck, Clive and I don't have any plans or whatsoever..it's just that this topic struck me..

I've been reading lots of post here about annulment here in my country and already used the search button here so I can find answers. But it seems that all that I gathered is not yet enough..

I just wanna learn more about it..how long does it takes, months or years? how it is processed?are the grounds and procedure are somewhat the same here in my country?is it easily get divorce too in UK?

I know other countries like in America, they can easily get divorce with their husband/wife, so it seems that they dont value the sanctity of marriage and can get married as much as they want to..unlike here in the Philippines, u may call us martyr or whatever but we will do our very best to save the marriage..because we do believe marriage is sacred, and I guess religion plays a big role on it..

so, can anyone help me sort things out and enlighten me with this one?

    thank u so much..

Hi Kimmi, you must live apart for two years, then apply for divorce, then after a couple of months its all over.Simple as that.(been there and done it):

If you DIY it at the courts 2-3 weeks for £100 As long as both parties agree.....unless you are as arrogant as Heather 'money grabbing' Mills......

...Thought of suicide did she because of the bad press?? So why yesterday did you spill the beans on Paul??? You get a bad press because he's an ICON of GREAT BRITAIN ya daft wench .....talk about digging your own grave.

She went into the relationship with nothing, did not do a paid job while married, and now wants more than the £20Million being offered......Hop-Along-Milly

    Kimmi,

Having been through one divorce and about to go through another, I might be qualified to answer!

Divorce in the UK is set up to be absolutely fair to both parties. That means that if money, property, or children are involved it can get complicated and expensive. I pay my first wife an absolute fortune in maintenance, but I do not regret it because it gives my son a safe and secure life and she needs the money.

My second wife will get nothing because she is self sufficient and probably better off than I am. Hopefully that will make the divorce simpler - but I'm still being quoted over £1500 by lawyers to do it!

Strangely, I too believe in the sanctity of marriage. My two marriages falling apart is the biggest regret in my life. But a divorce law that locks unhappy people together is not the solution, and results in all sorts of horrible things, including bad impacts on children.

All I can do is promise that I will do my best to make Mae happy and hope that she feels the same about me. I am completely determined to make the next marriage last the rest of my life.

    Ian

My ex wife was Britains greatest housekeeper, she kept my house and all the furniture!
