    Hi Sports Fans,

My name is Jay E Hilario, a rugby player for the Alabang Eagles Rugby Club, which is an official team of the Philippine Rugby Football Union. The Philippine Rugby Football Union, or the PRFU is a member of the International Rugby Board. Learn more about rugby at http://www.irb.com

My team mate, Mark Kochannek is in the Philippine National Rugby Team and also will manage the Philippine Under 19 team. We are looking for Filipino players from all around the world. Players can be at least 50% Filipino and must be in high school, or under 19 years of age.

We are looking for rugby players, but Filipino in rugby around the world is rare. But any Filipino athlete that may have played American Football, Soccer, Basketball, Boxing, and etc, you can try-out. The Philippines, so far has been very successful in rugby lately. Lets keep the progress going.

The Philippines will be going to China for the Under 19's World Cup. All travel including airfare, hotel lodging, allowances, food allowances, equipment + gear, and uniform will be all paid for.

Contact cappelan by leaving a private message (who will vet all messages before onforwarding to me) if you are interested, or if you know of anyone that is interested. Then I will foward you to the manager of the Philippine National Under 19 Rugby Team.

    Sige Na!
    Jay E Hilario

    Hi Peter

Best to email Jay on jay_esphilario@yahoo.com

Note the IRB U19 World Cup will be in Dubai in April so I take it for granted this tournament will probably be before or after that time. So this is probably an International invitation regional tournament.

BTW in the SEA Rugby 7s games last month which was an U23 competetion they had a 16 year old playing for the team so I think they're quite open because they have such a small local playing pool to choose from.

    PRFU numbers as of 23/01/2005

    No. of clubs 12
    Pre-teen male players 50
    Pre-teen female players 20
    Teen male players 200
    Teen female players 100
    Senior male players 150
    Senior female players 10
    Total male players 400
    Total female players 130
    Number of registered players 150
    Number of referees 6

These were playing numbers quoted on the IRB website beginning of last year before it was taken off. There numbers may have slightly increased but not signifivcantly with the entry of the Ceby City RFUC & Philippine Air Force (Clark Airbase) team - but again these would be adult players.
