Unbelievable almost £200 million and one point more than last season. They should seriously consider bringing Moyesey

We're ahead of you, and you're in the same position as last year. So neither teams have improved. At least we can make QPR look good

Rodgers and van Butthead are trotting out the same excuses – new signings needing time to adjust, transition, Europe or lack of.

Koeman at Southampton knows how to do it with a fraction of the money and none of the big name nancy boys

The problem isn't with Rodgers managing skills, he proved how good he was last year. Where he has failed is his buying skills. But, then Fergie bought a lot of useless players and still won cups.

Lambert looks poo Chan Chan the Can Can Man doesn't seem up to much .... and England keeps on crippling our players

Every team in the Prem seems to be struggling in one way or another, apart from the top 3, and Man City have had hiccups.

    Spot on.

What an inspired choice by the Saints.

Friend of mine took his daughter to her first ever football match at St Mary's on Saturday. She'll remember that one

Luke Shaw and Phil Jones look crap I admit to that only!
Liverpool might be above us but look poor compared to last season. Top 4 may be out of reach. The aim no doubt was to win the premiership.

In 8 games you've been unable to beat Swansea, Sunderland, Burnley, Leicester and West Brom. Between that we had the MK Dons debacle. I can sympathise with you trying to turn the focus elsewhere but be honest, if Liverpool had spent £200 million and done that you'd be laughing

Liverpool's only ambition this year is to do well in the CL, and qualify for next season. You will notice that Rodgers is putting out a stronger team on Wednesday, than he did against QPR.

Liverpool are playing utter crap, but they are still near the top as everyone else is playing crapper.

The other thing about the Mancs and Scousers is they specialise in having ineffective Captains. The likes of Fat Boy, Stevie Mee, Ferdinand, van Persie, Jordan Henderson etc are not fit to clean the boots of most of their predecessors

No, Liverpool's remit would have to win league or 2nd at worst. That won't happen again at all - so to say finish in top 4 is a (scuse the pun) kop out

Liverpool spent close to £130 million to make the team worse lol.

I believe the Mancs won the league last year and they probably will this year as well As for United, they should be ashamed of themselves.

No ... Livepool's remit is the CL It always has been, and always will be. It is worth at least 3X more than winning the league.

At least we didn't spend £200, so a saving of £70M and one extra point

Ask a real Liverpool fan and he will say the league. It's been about a quarter of a century (even Leeds have won it more recently)

You have to be disappointed as a Liverpool fan. You can forget the Champion's League. We have about same chance as you to win it lol

I know lots too and it's the title you are after.
Champions league is still a great trophy but at the end of the day it's a cup competition.
'Come back when you have won 18' was your most displayed banner for years.
League is first,Cl 2nd unless your city

Stevie G rallied the troops at half time in Istanbul to bring European's premier trophy back to Anfield for a fifth time after being 3-0 down. The finest comeback of all time going by the occasion. John Terry couldn't do that. He'd have lost it and would have been sent off.

All these have worn the armband, and I'm pretty sure done bugger all

    Emile Heskey
    Phil Neville
    David James
    Gary Neville
    James Milner
    Joleon Lescott
    Michael Carrick

... and Rooney and Terry are obviously better role models

Andy, being a Baggies' fan, has limited knowledge of football. It's like asking Stevie Wonder to describe a rainbow

John Terry the perfect role model. Take a bow, son!

Found guilty and fined by Chelsea back in 2001, in the time of 9/11 attacks. Terry and some team mates reportedly mocked American tourists outside the bar and threw food at them.

Terry was banned from England National side in 2002 World Cup due to him proven guilty of assulting a night club bouncer. Apperently Terry punched him in the face and hit him with a bottle and later claimed it was for self defence.

Another incident him in the bar, he was seen urinating in the glass at a local Essex nightclub and left it on the floor. He claimed that because of injured toe he could not make it to the washroom.

Parked his Bentley in Disable area, fined a mere £60 for the charge.

Terry came under fire after him along with Scot Parker and Wayne Bridge were reportedly betting on horses for over £40,000 a week and professional footballers are not allowed to.

2004 season in Premier League started badly for Terry, he was find £10,000 for inappropriate conduct. Allegedly he racialy abused Tottenham player Ledley King and misbehaved with match referee Graham Poll.

Terry Married Toni Pool his wife, but admitted he cheated on here more than 8 to 10 times and in the mean time a teenage girl Jenny Barker, revealed in the media that Terry cheated on Toni Pool with her in the car park

John Terry took a bribe from a reporter for over 10000 GBP and let him take footage around the Chelsea training ground. Chelsea found out and the fined him as he did the stuff without their permission.

Terry Mother and Mother in law were caught shoplifting back in 2009 and that followed his father selling cocain to an undercover police officer.

Than came the biggest scandal of them all, Terry had a four month fling with Wayne Brige Girlfriend and reportedly she was pregnant and abort the baby and with the Incident Terry lost England captaincy and was criticised so bad in the media over the next few months.

In October 2011 he alleged to have racially abuse Anton Ferdinand (Rio Ferdinand brother) in the Premier League game. Later found guilty and banned for a few games as well as he was replaced as the captain in England team for the 2nd time in his career.

We were never likely to miss it but, just in case, John Terry unveiled a T-shirt after Saturday’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace with the words ‘500 – thank-you!’ on the front.

He then spoke with no little pride about how he felt about setting a modern-day record of 500 matches as the captain of a Premier League club.

“When you look at these kinds of records you step back,” said the 33-year-old.

“I am in it week after week and you go from one game to another but when you step back and see the stats and the achievements, it is incredible.”

It would be tempting at this point to poke fun at Terry’s slight absence of modesty but the urge is genuinely tempered by reflecting on the actual magnitude of the achievement.

It was back in 2001 that Terry captained Chelsea for the first time just as he was turning 21.

There have been some enormous highs and some very notable lows (both on and off the pitch) but his leadership has certainly been colossal.

Just look at the calibre of the managers who have believed in him: Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, Carlo Ancelotti, Luiz-Felipe Scolari and Fabio Capello.

No other English club captain has won more than the 13 trophies that Terry has lifted, and you would expect there to be more in the months, perhaps even years, ahead.

Whatever you think of Terry, he stands with Roy Keane, Tony Adams, Graeme Souness and Bryan Robson among the all-time great captains in English football.

Chelsea have uncharacteristically started doing what cost them the Premier League title last season.

    Dropping points against smaller teams.
