    Cyberlink Power DVD 14

Not sure how anyone else does it but I use Cyber link power DVD for watching my downloads on my TV via pc.

Very good program plays any file I think, I use it for Blu-Ray rips.

The latest version 14 has just come out and I am downloading to Evaluate

I have a fritzbox 7390 router which has an in built NAS and I have connected a hard disk to it via USB. I then stream the films via wifi to my TV or tablet.

Mine's free and 176mb is not really bloated these days. Vlc is ok and will play any file too but power Dvd is better

I use Chromecast and an app called Videostream to play my movies to my TV, all done via wifi.

Been rid of my Virgin TV package for two weeks now, not missed it a bit.

I connect my pc to home theatre with HDMI as I watch blu-ray rips some with high quality master sound which will not stream quickly enough because of the size of the data.

That's why I got the fritzbox. It streams anything I throw at it including blue ray or HD quality.

Thanks for that Slip - just set it up so I'll be watching "The Hooligan Factory 2" later on the big screen - Mrs D will have to set up her tablet or a laptop to watch TCM when she gets back from work

Les - I had an obviously earlier version of Power DVD on a desktop a few years back used it for playing DVDs - I tend to use VLC Player these days

It's a good program especially free. Many more features than the free ones. Streaming was disappointing for me as I'm trying to stream a very high bitrate HD blu-ray with Dolby master stereo. Can't beat a direct connection HDMI.

Small tip, if you have an Android phone..try to download....Doubletwist music player, it plays everything you can throw at it, and it's Perfect for FLAC music....just listened to the Rolling Stones, Little Red Rooster... Excellent quality....and you should try Vangelis....superb in Flac..

Good tip but never use phone for music. I have an mp3 player that plays flac. I keep my music updated by looking for remastered flac albums. Beatles etc.
