Chelsea and Arsenal failed this week as well. It doesn't say much for the level of English football at the moment against some lower class European teams.

Liverpool knew they were unlikely to win. City lost the plot. Arsenal threw it away. Chelsea must have been half asleep. ManU.... well, they aren't even in it to embarrass themselves.
