I was surprised that all the TV sets here which are surplus have the F connector. Maybe they refurbish and replace the UK-type aerial socket for the F connector type,

You can get a male aerial to F connector converter in the UK. When I worked on satellite and TV installations in the UK, we used these often. I doubt if you will get one here, but maybe you can get someone to send you one.

The alternative is to find a reliable TV technician here, to replace the old one on TV. I guess it would just be a matter of soldering in a new F type connector.
