Hi, all my job pays me is a basic wage, but also I get a bonus for how much I do. Am I salaried or non-salaried employment??
Hi, all my job pays me is a basic wage, but also I get a bonus for how much I do. Am I salaried or non-salaried employment??
Salaried , if you pay tax and national insurance every week or month (PAYE).
Will they count my bonus for my financial requirements then or just my basic wage?
See, I was told if you get paid piece work that is non-salaried employment.
Salaried employment is when your pay is based on a fixed annual level and does not vary each month
Non-salaried employment is when your pay is not based on any fixed annual level but varies according to how much work you do / how many hours you work.
(eg: hourly paid)
If you rely on non-contracted overtime or bonus payments etc to meet the Financial Requirement income threshold then you should consider yourself Non-Salaried and follow the appropriate procedures to qualify.
If you apply as Non-Salaried, then follow UKVI procedure:-
Total gross income from employment held throughout the 6 month period (prior to application) divided by 6 and multiplied by 12 = Income from Non-Salaried employment that can be counted towards the Financial Requirement.
Thanks Terpe, so I can choose which way to apply salaried or non-salaried?
No not really.
UKVI have been known to refuse if you apply under the wrong category.
Rick, If your basic salary is a fixed annual income that doesn't vary month to month and it meets or exceeds the relevant income threshold then Category A Salaried is for you.
Be advised that if you go for Category A under Salaried and just one of your monthly payslips falls below £1550 then the application will fall for refusal.
There's no discretion on financials.
No offence intended Rick, but have you studied the UKVI Financial Requirement ?
If not then here's the link please do take plenty of time to review as it's absolutely key
