Nicking members off a site is easy, but that is unethical to me so I've never done it, getting 'fresh new' members in on a daily basis, and advertising revenue isn't.

This site has over 30,000 pages indexed on the major search engines, so comes up on the first page of most Philippine related searches, it also has over 27,000 other sites pointing to me , that's what gives me power in the search engines and values the site at a nice price if I sell it. Win2Win forum has over 150,000 My article directories have over 50,000, and one of them has an Adsense click-thru of over 10% and so Google pays the high rate, not the very low rate for new sites with low CTR.

Reasons...?

Maybe because I feel good here, I like to think that sometime I can be of some help to someone.

This site and some of the members helped me a lot with their suggestions and/or moral support.

Through reading the various post I learnt a lot about immigration, something that was of no interest to me whatsoever.
But as the proverbial "shoe" was on my foot, I had to learn and fast, to make sure that our application was successful the first time.
For a while I was a member of the ,now, "defunct" ASAWA, but it did not serve my purpose, as it dealt exclusively with americans ant their spouses. But it was opening my eyes to what to expect in an LDR. Lots of hassle....
Thanks to someone on this site, inviting me to have a look, and browsing Pete's place, I realized that Filipino UK was what was needed for my purpose. And so I decided to join this forum.

I haven't looked back since.

If I can give any help to people that are in the same situation as Jet and myself were, ie about Non Eu spouse of EEA nationals, I will gladly share my experience, hoping that it will be of use.

But only on this site...

Personally I don't have anything against any new sites from sprouting up all over the www, what I don't really like, is the underhanded way in which members are "poached".
I did receive a message a while ago about joining this new upstart of a site, but I treated with the contempt it deserved and binned it...

You can not please everyone. I dont see anything wrong what you are doing in this forum. I appreciate all the laughs and humors you have contirbuted to this site. It is just some people have not got a clue and do not know how to appreciate others jokes. If anyone will suggest to ban you here, I will assure that theres two regular members will not be seen here anymore. I mean it.

Nowhere it says that I dislike anyone.

In fact I mentioned no names at all.

The only people I dislike are the 3 persons that one way or the other have had a negative influence on me, over the course of my life.
People I actually met and dearly wish I never did.
But gladly they are not on this site, or even in the UK.
Even my ex wife, despite all the aggro, doesn't qualify to join this small but selected group of people.

So no worries from my department, I don't dislike you at all, just find you at times irritatingly exuberant, but I put it down to youthful banter.
Part of what I call "the Nintendo/Sony Playstation" generation.... Just like a couple of my older kids.
