Maybe because I feel good here, I like to think that sometime I can be of some help to someone.
This site and some of the members helped me a lot with their suggestions and/or moral support.
Through reading the various post I learnt a lot about immigration, something that was of no interest to me whatsoever.
But as the proverbial "shoe" was on my foot, I had to learn and fast, to make sure that our application was successful the first time.
For a while I was a member of the ,now, "defunct" ASAWA, but it did not serve my purpose, as it dealt exclusively with americans ant their spouses. But it was opening my eyes to what to expect in an LDR. Lots of hassle....
Thanks to someone on this site, inviting me to have a look, and browsing Pete's place, I realized that Filipino UK was what was needed for my purpose. And so I decided to join this forum.
I haven't looked back since.
If I can give any help to people that are in the same situation as Jet and myself were, ie about Non Eu spouse of EEA nationals, I will gladly share my experience, hoping that it will be of use.
But only on this site...
Personally I don't have anything against any new sites from sprouting up all over the www, what I don't really like, is the underhanded way in which members are "poached".
I did receive a message a while ago about joining this new upstart of a site, but I treated with the contempt it deserved and binned it...
