Why do you guess not?
Seems to me these changes to the categorisation of Visit Visas will bring benefits all round by reducing the current 15 different categories to just 4 types of Visit Visa.
.......Under the updated system, the four categories will include a standard visa covering tourists and another visa for those waiting to undertake paid engagements such as appearing in concerts, theatre or other performance arts.
A third type of visa will cover those visiting Britain for a marriage or civil partnership. The final category will be a transit visa for those passing through the country.
The Home Office said it had drawn up the reforms after consulting with more than 100 organisations, ranging from business groups and tourism bodies to representatives from the worlds of science and technology..............Business travellers will also be allowed to take a holiday in the UK alongside meetings for the first time. Previously two visas were required......
Hmm 5%.....The most recent official statistics show that just under two million visitor visas were issued last year. That is a 1 per cent rise on 2013. Around 100,000 applications were refused........![]()
I would love to think the government are going to make it easier for my wife or anyone to get a visa, be that a spouse or any other type of visa, but if that the case, why don't they drop the salary rule?
We all know that a large majority of the UK pubic wants stronger immigration rules. While my wife had her second TB test a few weeks ago, the doctor advised her to submit her visa application as soon as possible. He said, "changes are coming". she asked, "what changes?" and he replied, "more checks. The rumour around that IMO, was USA style medical checks".
I hope I am wrong but, but the government has never made it easy for us. I guess we will find out in April, I know one thing, my wife and I are going to submit our application before then.
