I used to enjoy going exploring on my own too. Well ... ... living alone for 17 years after being widowed, I'd little choice really. Much of the time was spent out on my bike after retiring early from work ... often covering anything up to 50 miles in a day.

... nowadays, though, due to increasing deafness, it's no longer safe - nor advisable - and Myrna tends to keep a watchful eye on me ... especially when we're crossing busy traffic-filled streets.

Much of the time was spent out on my bike after retiring early from work ... often covering anything up to 50 miles in a day.

However ... the downside (there's always a !) is, in recent years, my weight has stealthily crept up from a steady 121/2 stone to around 14st. 3lbs as a consequence.
