We are finalising getting a house in my wifes town in Leyte at the moment but eventually we'd like somewhere with a nice beach, not too far from a decent town. Somewhere with good scuba diving. Don't know where though, maybe Bohol?

I would live in one of the smaller condo's in One Roxas Triangle in Makati, next to the Mandarin. The 300m one, not the 600m ones. Or maybe I d get the penthouse in the Shang Grand Tower in Legaspi village. I would also have a small island too.

Perhaps I am weird, but I love Mandaue city, I love the buzz of the place. I think I would find it too difficult to live somewhere beautiful but remote. Only back from Phil one week and already feeling homesick.

Very small world, Now I know three guys on this forum, I see jim eve is here, no the Rhoody also. Alan mentioned before.
Negros Oriental is the place to be if you like rural settings with big mountains and friendly folks. The living is inexpensive, the scenery beautiful, and for my tastes Dumaguete offersthe small city ambiance that suits me.

yes we do have broadband here, not everywhere but in Dumaguete no problem. different connections are available. I would post the link, but I am not allowed... kawawa ako... hehe. Just put "dumaguete" into google.com and look at the number one and two-result, you find there ALL answers about Dumaguete.

    cheers

My wife says Davao is nice but personally I'd still rather avoid Mindanao when there's 7106 other places which are safer

i would honestly say that u stay in the north where it is accessible to go to manila that u dont need to go by plane, near baguio city where u can just easily hop when u feel very hot in summer, and the beaches too are great and not that expensive compared to palawan

We (well my wife legally! fingers crossed for Charter Change!) have a house in Sagay north of Bacolod. It's great to visit but I couldn't live there permanently as I'd like the benefits of shopping malls, airport, hospital etc. Bacolod is nice & I've also read on various groups that Iloilo City is also good for expats.

My wife comes from near Tacloban, Western Samar to be precise. About 40 min from the city. How did you find the house prices in tacloban. They seem to be on the rise very quickly to me. I'm looking at stuff on the island paradise website. Also from the limited time I've spent there there doesn't seem to be many expats. Also lacking are resturants and bars, but of course I'm probably wrong.
