Well the missus wants a gaff in her home town in laguna. The family have loads of land all over the gaff around the town. I would leave it up to the missus. I find it strange how although a big town at the front is a busy, loads of people you go out the back of nearly all the houses and you walk for ages in the land at the back with wonderful views of the mountains on the skyline which only i find beautiful all the wifes family have grown up with it and take for granted.
Being a townie id like a place in Makati as my company now operates in Phill and Hong kong plus just about every other asia country (a short comute away) so would moved if transferred out there.
looks like for me it be Tiniguiban, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
or like Andypaul laguna/makati
oh its where my wifes family live
My wife has a lot near Dumaguete, negros oriental, building a house there.
Such a beautiful city and plenty of interesting places to visit, and the boulevard
with lot of bars and restaurants.
The pier and airport within 15 minutes drive and its outside of the typhoon belt.
Jim.
oh and we will be there next month
San Ildefonso and Vigan in Ilocos Sur. So much opportunity for growth and business. Foreign investment very welcome. Very peaceful place and very friendly people.
As you all know my place is on the outskirts of Bacolod City in Negros Occidental, my girl is a Bacolod Lady, I love Bacolod, its the city of smiles, a great place to live, the people are great.
A very laid back lifestyle, mountain resorts about 20 minutes by car, beaches about 30 minutes by car.
Airport 30 minutes away, reasonable roads, infrastructure fairly good for provincial standards.
We have a gated sub division with security guards, on site services including Mount Kanloan waters, Globe Lines broadband (INSTALLED BY ME) main shopping facilities just down the road from the sub division gate.
Children's playground, basketball court, club house, meeting area.
SM CITY and GAISANO malls about 10 minutes away, and Robinsons, also about 15 minutes away.
Foreigners club in the city, with Star Sports, An Expatriates club for all the foreigners to meet on Friday's and have a few beers.
New Bacolod Silay International Aiport about 25 minutes drive out of Bacolod, excellent new highway built.
Kanbankalan about 2 hours by car, San Carlos I can do in about 1. hour 35 minutes, and Dumaguete where Jim and Alan hang out, is about 4 hours over the mountains via Mabinay , can always go there for a day trip, plus they have Apo Island.
Also we have Jomabo Island near Escalante city, again about 1 hour out of Bacolod.
We have it all.
What more could you ask for?

I cannot say from vast experience of the Fil but, where my wife Anilyn's family home is in Pangasinan, it has the cleanest air, views of mountains and lots of clean beaches with blue water, the fish is that fresh it still flaps before going into my shopping bag, I really did not want to come home to Englands 3 month old fresh fish and prawns
CPLURLTC Care, Patience, Love, Understanding, Respect, Loyalty, Trust & Concideration / Compassion Are all the values Me & Anilyn hope to give each other, sometimes we may both fail, but we will always try, I am sure most of u in here are the type to do the same with their loved ones.

I bought 2 properties, one in a village in Sta. Rosa and one in Tagaytay(not yet fully paid) WE both want to stay in Sta. Rosa because at the the back is Mom's farm where hubby enjoys picking fruits especially mangoes) It's a cool place to live. It's a farm in the city, about 10 minutes ride to SM STa. Rosa. I wish hubby is soon to retire but we need to wait 15 more years.
Good suggestion Keith and it would be best if Penny can drive his van or truck over his limb.
Who's Carabao? Keith or Joe?! and sheep? I know its ROb and Red dragon? Pete? I don't know anymore

TO AND BE D ...
We have a home in Palawan over looking Honda bay and a small place in Baguio when Ligaya wants to be closer to her mum and siblings. I love Palawan all year round and Baguio in winter, less people less traffic. I want to buy star fish Island in Honda Bay about 170k sterling and it is faboulous but need to work a bit longer first and Ligaya wants see european cities and not raise our baby in Hong Kongs stinky air so over to Bridgnorth, Bewdley of Hagley early next year. I can always escape and go diving on tubatahha reef,
fantastic!
We have a home in Palawan, and an condo in Baguio, we like both at different times of the year for different reasons. We enjoy diving and snorkelling in Honda Bay amd Coron and we like winter time in baguio, less crowded and nice not to always be hot. We will be living in UK next year so more chances for my wife to see places in Europe. We will almost certainly retire to Palawan provided it does not develop too much.
Excellent Scott thanks for telling us about your place in Palawan, its good to know I have a neighbour a few hundred miles away, hahaha, I have a home in Negros Occidental, maybe when you retire and I retire, its time for Golf ?? and mango shakes ?

There is always death and taxes; however, death doesn't get worse every year.
