Thanks for the good wishes. Mae is much better now. She is a strong lady. I really thank God I was able to help her - the attack left her without a single peso and no phone. A kind motorcycle guy gave her a lift for free and she borrowed 100 pesos to get to the internet cafe to contact me. Lucky I left Yahoo messenger on all night.
On the comparison thing, I am planning a big holiday ot Thailand next Summer. My son is half Thai and I want to take him to some of our old haunts like Khao Yai national park and a wonderful hotel on a deserted beach 3 hours from Bangkok. The plan is to fly Mae out too so it should be a holiday of a lifetime. I wonder what she will make of the Land of Smiles? It will be strange being there with an Asian lady and half asian boy, with only me being able to speak any Thai!!!
