We all said what a crazy buy on here Ded but no one listened
Didn't Chelsea buy Torres for £50M?
ManU paid £12M for Wilfried Zaha who did squat, and that was a Fergie buy. Not forgetting £26M for Anderson back in 2007, 8 years - 9 goals, a huge fee then.
Balo was a gamble, and hasn't started many games. We knew he was lazy, but he's done better than podgy Lambert

True Keith but both United players were somewhat unknown ability wise we all knew Balo was a joke buy before you got him and let's not forget that amazing flop Andy Carrol who you paid shed loads for
Balo has unknown ability, he has no idea where it is

Also it seemed Torres was the man when Chelsea bought him he was just a one or 2 season wonder I guess
Torres was a much better buy according to these TalkSport figures
Fernando Torres – Liverpool to Chelsea – £50m in 2011
105 Premier League appearances / 19 goals
13 FA Cup appearances / Three goals
Six League Cup appearances / Three goals
37 European appearances / 16 goals
Three other appearances / Two goals
Cost per Premier League goal – £2,631,579
Cost per goal overall – £1,162,791

I think most folk would agree that 1 goal every 4 matches for a £50M is really crap, you should get a Ronaldo/Messi level of goals at that price. Balo has been crap, but he hasn't started many games. A lot of City players have been pants this season, and they don't come cheap.
