    Going to Rome

Going to Rome I think now.
Peter, when you went you did the private tour of the Vatican, was it worth paying the extra for this?

For those types of tour is always better to join an organised tour group simply to avoid the huge queues and to listen to tour guide giving great information.

We chose one of the better VIP tours because it was a full day tour and included not only the Vatican itself but also included visits to the major basilicas by air-con coach.
It was a small group of about 8 as I recall we all had high quality audio sets. Our tour guide was American and was very good.

The company was Dark Rome and is highly recommended.
Be warned they don't come cheap but I've no hesitation to recommend them based on our experience.

We had a fantastic holiday in Rome.
