Some airports are great places to spend time and others just the place to get your flight.
NAIA sits on the place to catch a flight.
There's a nice private VIP lounge there with a good range of eats and drinks. Not in the same class as BA at Heathrow but comfortable and quiet and the beer is ice cold

When I went in 2013 it was bloody awful, long queues and a tatty lounge with a few stale sandwiches. The new terminal is totally different, a vast improvement on the old one but still just average on a worldwide scale.

The queues can be terrible. Check-in, immigration and security.

The airport itself is not bad though. It is better than Philadelphia in the US.

To me airports are just like bus stations....places to pass though as quickly as possible, with the lowest possible expenditure.
Naturally I always have ample homemade sandwiches with me, as well as other snacks and water. No need to be reliant upon ripoff airport food that has been sitting in the sun for hours and passed through lord knows who's hands.

In years gone by I'd have looked for the smoking room. Now it's wi-fi that's more of a priority.

    Love it!!
The off white decor always brings back happy childhood memories of sitting watching TV in a smoke filled living room.

I don't understand either why the NAIA has been dubbed the worst airport in the world. It's not that bad.

I believe it was based on the review of its sleeping arrangements, by one or two backbackers on some obscure website or other.

NAIA1 is shambolic,NAIA3 is an average transit route for me,shambolic also describes getting from 1-3 if your unfortunate enough to be arriving PAL at 1 and flying south from 3 NAIA cant hold a candle to either Cebu or Davao when landing in the country, you only get 1 chance to make a first impression

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Hardly relevant to most travellers I'd have thought, but of course the Phils govt. got wind of it and face was lost.

Singapore Airport is what you call good , not NAIA..hahaha. Wifi? You can't even connect to the flipping wifi. I had to use my 3G connection via my mobile. Food? Expensive for a low quality meal, unless of course you are willing to pay more for a good one. Very long queues are annoying, it's not just at some point but it's all the time. NAIA Terminal 2 and 3, they need to step up their services. Terminal 1, they need to get rid of it completely and replace with a new & modern one.

    Ex-British RAF base.

My dad used to take us to the inter-services sports there.

    on BOTH counts.

Can't get over how far away from city centres *some of the airports listed are reported as being ... or could it be possible many of *those distances are an exaggeration?
