I used to drink Lambanog when we relocated to the Philippines. At that time it was 100% natural and did not contain any artificial chemicals.
Things have changed in the past few years and most of the Lambanog/Tuba you see for sale on the roadside, is not pure. They mix a small amount of pure wine (for taste) with water and some chemical. Its tastes similar but it must be affecting peoples internal organs even more than the original

Last time I was up North I bought a bottle of Dragon Fruit wine Will definitely get a few more bottles the next time.

Jake.. I used to have one or 5 shots of Lambanog made properly and flavoured with Jackfruit.. It was a bit like a fine liqueur.. The stuff I had in Manila was more like Chinese rocket fuel..
When I wasnt so busy just 2 years ago,I made 10 gallons of mango wine with some champagne yeast that was sent to me from the UK.. It took nearly 8 months a 4 racking`s but the wine it produced was superb.

I've had plenty of home made Tuba and Lambanog, plus I've enjoyed some higher quality Lambanog from a specialist outlet.

To be honest I've not yet come by any Philippines wine at all.
If I ever manage to find the time I'll definitely try my hand at making something from the local fruit.
    Maybe an alcoholic Four Seasons

We're travelling up country tomorrow deep into NPA territory to attend a large family reunion.
We'll be gone for a few days.
Last time I visited this area I really did quaff rather too much Tuba
Hopefully it'll be a nice change.
Going to have my first experience of a Batchelor Bus hope it's not as scary as the only other bus ride I took in Luzon.

Off-topic Peter, but I thought you might find this article of interest. The guy is based in Davao too.

    Thank you Graham.
I read that article before during my research on how to get decent speeds.
It's not easy unless you live in certain locations.
    Like many other things .......

We're here in the province just now. Very difficult for Internet. Very difficult for ATM
But what a wonderful time we're having. Food for thought on where we'll put down our roots.

Our local Swiss Deli stocks some pretty good French wines, including some very nice Alsace wines.
    Little bit pricey

The S & R shopping outlet also stocks some good stuff and at very reasonable prices too.
