Surely every member would find this thread of interest, whether or not they collect ( and use ) stamps. They provide an illustrated history of life in the Philippines from 1854 to date. In answer to the questions posed on facebook, these stamps ARE still available - on eBay, stamp fairs around this country, and of course recent issues in Philippines post offices.
Even by 2011 " Stanley Gibbons Stamp Catalogue for South East Asia " listed over 4,500 " commemorative and definitive " stamps issued by the Philippines, far in excess of those issued by the UK since the " Penny Black " of 1840.
