The Ilocos Region is underrated. Plenty of places to visit that suit all tastes. And it only costs a tenner on the bus from Manila to Vigan.

Jamie is quite right. Plenty of very underrated places in the North of Luzon
Some really fabulous beaches too if that's your thing
