What a tragedy. I would be looking at the husband as first suspect.
My young lady's friend also lives there (Johor Bahru) and is married to a Malaysian policeman.
I lived there for 3 years when I was a kid. It is the Malaysian town that faces Singapore Island.
Sad news.
