In the 80's I was made redundant, was off work for nearly 18 months, managed no problem with the benefits I got but hated it. I found a job 2 hours travel away for half the amount I was getting on benefits. Most people would say that was stupid especially having a missus and 2 kids but it was the best thing I ever done.
so going from no work, no travel and being at home with no problems, I took 50% less money, traveled 4 hours there and back and worked 8 hours every day, it was tough but I was proud to do it! The kids also learned a good lesson about earning your keep.
