I've always wondered why bad smells in general override good smells.![]()
Everyone at some point has gambled on a fart and lost.....
I was the champion farter and belcher in my year at school, as well as the loudest sneezer. All generated at will, especially during prayers in morning assembly.![]()
........reminds me of Verse 4 of a hilarious (not so little) ditty I recall hearing in the Male Dormitory of a Christian youth camp I once attended back in 1966 ... on the sacred Isle of Iona of ALL places.

Alas ... the rest is (shall we say) unrepeatable on a forum such as ours - but feel free to take a peek!![]()
This is the first time in my whole life I have heard anyone discuss this subject, how disgusting![]()
... "BOTTOM"
line is, farting's simply nature's way of releasing the build~up of gases in the intestines and, as such, it is a perfectly normal, inescapable practice that has been common to ALL mammals - ranging from the earliest dinosaur right up to the newborn human infant - ever since time began. Indeed, there's an old saying, understood to've been attributed to the Scots Bard, Robert Burns:
"Whaur'er ye be
Let yer ain wind blaw free!"
OK ...... there's a limit - a time and place. But, IMO, the only thing offensive about a fart, is the odour it tends to create. And, Steve ... your thread's just a bit of harmless, light hearted fun.
I work with a guy w could fart for the England team it maybe because he drinks alcohol every night and is fond of cabbage, a lethal combination perhaps.
I bought a fart book as a kid when we were on holiday.
Used to really giggle reading it.
Thank you for the rep, Michael, oops sorry, wrong one. Thank you Arthur![]()
