    Adoption in the Philippines

Does anyone know anything about adoption here in the Philippines?

How long would it take to process etc, and would they be able to take the child with them to UK?

    I'm asking for a friend,

The wife filipino has been caring for her for some time and is her niece

What kind of adoption? Is the child off one of the couples (i.e., a foreign husband will adopt his partner/wife's kid)?

He is a UK national living in Philippines, his wife is filipino the niece is his his wife's. They care for the niece here. They want to move to UK, and hope they can adopt the niece so that they can bring the niece as their adopted child to UK with them.

    Not the wife's child

    Here's some info:

Not sure how easy it is to get UK visa for the kid once she's been adopted.

Even if the couple could jump through the needed Philippine hoops, the UK does not accept adoption from Philippines.
    Hague convention and all that.

Sadly unless the legal aspects on both sides have significantly changed it's a non starter as a route to UK

I know a pinay here, flew to manila 2 or 3 days before her niece gave birth with the intention of registering the kid as her own,and bringing the baby back to the UK,that was maybe 14 years ago???The kid is still in pinas.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.
