    Where would you live?

If you could live anywhere where would that be, you still have the same budget you have now, so if you have nothing or very little , you cannot have any more , now if you are rich well you may be ok,
So where would it be but remember you are on a budget,
I am still wanting to try and be in the Phils, but if i had to have another choice it would be rural France, both places i think i could manage to live quite well, just think a San Miguel over in the Phils or a glass of red wine in France, both sounds wonderful after a hard days doing nothing

I'd live in the Seychelles. Only been twice in my life, once for 3 weeks when I was 18, once for a month about 3 years ago. I have friends that live there and I know a lot of people there as my childhood friend growing up came from there and I went to a lot of Seychelles party's in London when I was growing up as a lot of of them fled here when the government was overthrown back in the seventies and my friends Dad was the chief of police back then so obviously he was one of the first to leave the country!
My childhood friend now lives back there permanently and has done for around 6 years now, the pace of life suits me down to the ground and the weather is just right as well!

    With my present budget ?

In a simple house in the Philippines, with my ladylove, of course.

I suppose I could also borrow my brother's apartment in the French Alps for the occasional holiday.

Can't qualify for long term visa. Sadly.
We're thinking about spending 3 months there each year during March, April and May which we can do without visa's.

Even our previously held long term visa's needed annual review and complete new application every 5 years

We're very happy here, but had such a wonderful life when we lived in Japan it remains our number one choice.

    That's unfortunate.
I thought you would have been eligible for permanent residency, as you stayed there for so many years.

If we ever have the chance to visit, i would also like to visit at around the same time of year. Seeing the cheery blossoms has always been high up on my list of things to do.

    I would stay put
Used to think i would be happy living near the beach and thought we may end up there one day. Have realized that we are both very happy here, so why move, as we can visit the beach anytime we wish.

Indeed, staying in your place and going to the different places close by has made me think twice, NEIGHBOR

Steve.. As long as you have fun everyday, I don't think it matters where you live!

Oh well ... ... some might say I'm easily satisfied. But, given the choice ... I'd just like to spend the rest of my life in the house I've lived in for the past 47 years - here in the 'Fair City' of Perth.

    Nowt wrong with that Arthur.

Wish I'd hung on to the new house I bought in York back in 1977 for £9,000 ...and £52 a month mortgage over 15 years.

    Northern pakistan,failing that cambodia perhaps.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.
