    Welcome back.

I met a girl from Guagua on my last trip over, a friend of my ex's but I can't remember her name. She's a singer and looks more European than Filipina.

It's a 'C' visa - short stay - and is free to the non-EU spouse of an EU citizen, by EU law the non-EU has a right to travel with or join their EU partner in any EU country with the exception of UK. Once in the EU country, the EU citizen has 3 months to satisfy requirements, the non-EU spouse can stay and forget the 3 month visa as she can apply for residency,

The 'C' visa is applied for at the Irish Embassy in the country of the non-EU, ie.. Philippines

    You're welcome

It's a good alternative for those that are not tied to work in UK

Wife has her 5 year RC card. Best thing about this route is that those that have done the UK route with the £18,600 will later on still need to prove their way. We have more rights thanks to EU Law and freedom of movement

Part of the requirements are that the EU citizen needs to work a minimum of 12 hrs per week, or be self employed. I don't know how this applies if a pensioner

You're still permitted to work when you're a pensioner you know (or to be self-employed). Otherwise, half of Parliament would be out of a job for starters.

    Good point though.
