Not a true story ... for the avoidance of doubt. But, IMO, humorous nontheless.

This young woman - while training to become a pilot - was 5,000 ft in the air when her instructor suffered a fatal heart attack. Alone on the plane, she radioed Ground Control -as instructed to do in the event of an emergency - and requested help, saying: "My pilot has died ... how do I land this plane safely?"

"Don't panic", replied the Air Traffic Controller - keeping his voice as calm as he could in the circumstances - "I'll tell you exactly what to do ... OK? Now, can I ask, what is your height and position?"

"Oh? ... I'm 5 ft. 8 inches tall ... and I'm in the co-pilot's seat ..."

Right", said the ATC. Then ... after a pause, ...

... "NOW repeat after me" ...

... (another pause) ...


... "Our Father ..."
