Great news Simon, I'm sure Shey's family will be excited to see Charleigh and yourselves over Christmas and New Year .
Still planning ours
We're also going on January for 3 weeks!

...When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible...
Looking to go for 3 weeks Christmas and New Year. Anyone know of any good offers around this time.
Anyone looking to hire a car, let me know. A good friend of mine is quite high up in Avis, so for example last year I paid php 77,000 for a Toyota Camry for a month and this year I've got a Toyota Fortuna for php 53,000 for the same period
We very nearly bought a Fortuner recently. Very nice SUV loads of room.
Fortunately, for my bank balance, I managed to talk my way out of it
I think December and January are about the best months to visit Philippines in many ways. Especially weatherwise.
Great to see so many getting excited about forthcoming trips.
Hope everyone enjoys to the max.
Cathay Pacific have a sale until September 30 - predictably they don't include Christmas, New Year ( unless flying 30 and 31 December ), and Chinese New Year ( starting February 8 next year ).

£554 for our flights if we went on our dates, that is still a great deal ,
I shall leave it down to Ems
Have a great trip !
Slight change of plan now, still going for 5 weeks in December but Shey and Charleigh are off for a month on Wednesday as Shey's daughter is ill. I'll follow in mid September for just over 2 weeks.
It's proving to be a blinking expensive month on the credit card
Well that went according to plan
Shey and Charleigh flew out on the 2nd but I didn't tell them I was following. Landed here late Tuesday and when I got to the hotel I had a lovely text from Shey telling me she missed me and wishing I was here.
Picked up a car first thing the following morning and drove to her parents house, you should have seen the look on her face when I turned up
Very thoughtful of you Simon
Any improvement in Shey's daughters health?
I turned up in the Philippines once, so that I could surprise the wife. It certainly did surprise her, as I'd left her back in the UK

The joy of giving.......
We turned up at the inlaws place today to pick up Shey's daughter for her skin test for me to see the washing machine broken, so all being done by hand and also Shey's mother trying to cut up some meat with a knife that was so blunt I'd have had difficulty cutting through butter with it.
All noted and stuck in the back of my head, so on the way home we took a detour. Shey asked what we were at the supermarket for Picked up a couple of new knives and a washing machine, and to be honest I'm not sure who had the greatest pleasure, me giving or the look on the families faces when we came back to the family home with a few gifts.
Well the Christmas decorations were already up in the shop
I hate shopping, but today was almost bearable.....
Had the joy of going to the local SM Normally it's bad enough, but they have a 3 day sale on at the moment. You can just imagine the scene, 100's of people strolling round either on another planet or on their mobile and not paying any attention to their surroundings. Now normally this would drive me round the bend as well as pushing my blood pressure through the roof, but today was different
Charleigh has developed this habit of shouting "BAA" when she wants attention, so she's in the pram with me pushing shouting BAA to anyone who was in the way. It was as if she was my own personal siren with people parting to let us through as she shouted, as soon as she realised the effect it was having she started laughing and shouting BAA repeatedly
I can borrow the sister in laws too, but for a price i am told, so it looks like if i want one i will hire it from somewhere else
Another shopping trip today, and I think I've broken my record for swiftness. 2 different malls and one shop in 3 hours including about an hour in traffic.
Purchased...
4 air con units
1 king sized bed
2 Bunk beds
1 dining room table with 8 chairs
Sofa set, 3 seater, 2 seater and chair
1 coffee table
1 side table
2 bedside tables
1 fridge freezer
1 washing machine
Only thing that I didn't commit on was a TV as they're a lot more than at home.
Not bad for 3 hours including traffic
