I only ever take hand carry so if it was my flight I would have boarded so that I could watch all the films at once![]()
You do realise that it's a spoof website don't you
It's a made up story![]()
They had to fit them all on to the next flight.

Hi everyone is this bullet scam real, Maricris says its on facebook and other sites. Makes me nervous thinking about it. Next May we are going home to tacloban to see family, dont want to get caught up with somthing like this. Any advice. go nakedWill be truthful starting to put me off was thinking of not going even though three tickets are booked.
Yes it's real. Just secure and keep an eye on your bags.
A couple of ideas that may make you less of a likely target...
1. Get some electrical insulation tape (or whatever you can get hold of), and run this over every zip, pocket and opening on your case. This will make it a lot harder for something to be 'planted'
2. If travelling with someone else when you put your luggage through any x-ray machine make sure one of you go through to watch your bags coming out the other side of the machine, and don't go through yourself until you've seen all of your bags etc enter the machine.
3. Obviously never leave your bag, if on a trolley keep it in front of you and don't let some stranger distract you by asking for the time or anything else, think of it as a reverse pick pocket.
Statistically the chances of you falling victim to this scam are minuscule, how many people have fallen victim compared to how many passengers pass through the airport on a daily basis![]()
Thanks for the advice will try to keep in mind the one about the x-ray,good advice thats as long i don't get put off from going. been looking at security bags tamper proof very expensive. Thanks. will continue my search for a good bag.
Next May is a long way off yet. It'll all have been resolved before then.
It's not something new, been going on for years. The stats are not even increased. It's just that most of the 'victims' have started shouting out and it's a major issue here now.
The whole world and his brother are either investigating or being investigated.
Keith bought a roll of pallet wrap for our checkin luggages when we go to Manila on January. Then will put another luggage cover on top of it as well.
Like this:
He also bought cable ties (zip ties) that we would be using to lock the zips of our hand carry backpacks. Nothing will be put in our hand carry pockets and would also put gorilla tapes on those pockets. The main zip of our backpack will be padlocked as well.
I also bought rain covers for our backpacks to cover the whole bag. If your wife will carry a handbag, make sure there aren't any outside pockets and the main zip is locked as well.
Something like this:
Do you think I'm paranoid??? I guess I just want to be overly careful.

Since the bullet incident/video, how many more have been caught by this sting? Surely those doing this will not try it again for a while with all the publicity?
Rayna - no point in locking zips, apart from to stop them coming open accidentally. Look on Youtube for a video on how to open a case with a pen and you will see why.
Personally, when I see 'shrink-wrapped' luggage I always wonder what the owner is hiding. Also remember, customs can open any case they like before/after the flight for security/safety checks.
There's a daily list.
Proving a scam is itself proving difficult as yet.
You still get folks carrying bullets as 'amulets'. Others carrying live ammo who know nothing about it.
Still get the stupids who claim they forgot they still have legal firearms and/or ammo in their bags
Today on the TV news we saw an American who got caught and detained for carrying a pistol and ammo in his padlocked toolbox. Yep, he forgot it was there too.
It's getting difficult to understand what the hell is going on![]()
I know about the zips. I've known about it years ago. I'm just doing my bit to protect my luggages and bags, especially in NAIA airport. I've always put multiple locks in my luggages ever since I started travelling overseas (years ago). I'm lucky nothing bad happened to any of my luggages other than a few scratches. I think protecting your own luggages is not a bad thing to do, instead of leaving it all out in the open.

Zip ties going to order some on-line those with the numbers on them. Going to connect them through the bag its self so the zip cant be moved unless the tie is broken. Not to concerned of what is taken out of my bag its more of what is placed in my bag.
Has anyone seen this video yet ?
.
Yes I've seen that yesterday.![]()

I understand stupid people do things like this all the time, but I would have expected the Philippines customs/baggage or whoever to cut back while the noise level drops. But if they're still doing it to people daily at NAIA then there is something REALLY wrong, not just a bit of corruption?
Yes I realised it was a spoof story
But still thought it was good..
Filipino humour.
