    batten down the hatches

    Wow , its windy out there, Everything is flying around , bins going up the street, why dont people put there bins back in there gardens,
    I just hope all the tiles are on the roof when i wake up,

    To be honest where we live we haven't noticed much of a wind at all

    Well Peter dont know about Typhoon Derby, but it was very very windy,
    The garden furniture looks like its moved, but other then that all looks fine,
    Hey ho another day awaits

    You're right Steve it wasn't Typhoon Derby it was Storm Barney.
    Just saw a report on the BBC news. Winds of up to 85mph to some parts of the UK together with power outages.

    Wind forecast to get worse later on today.... then snow coming at the weekend, even down to low-lying areas.

    You're very lucky to have snow every winter Arthur, when I lived in Thurgoland they had and still have snow every year, it's lovely to have a proper winter!
