Oh no ... not ANOTHER 'Google Doodle! ... so what does this one represent?

Here, then, is the link to an incredible story behind a search that spanned several decades before it finally came to a head in 1975 with the discovery - by a team of Canadian zoologist volunteers -
of the winter habitat of a rare species ... known as the Monarch Butterfly.

Distinguishable by its predominantly orange wingspan surrounded by black trimming with white polka-dot features, it attaches itself to oyamel trees in the Eastern Mexican Sierra Madre Mountains.

Whilst it may not arouse the same degree of curiosity and/or excitement as David Attenborough's Great Barrier Reef exploration - currently being televised on early Sunday evenings - I'm confident
it'll appeal to those of you who are interested in the naturalist world.

Hence the reason for computer screens displaying this Google-Doodle. Today marks the anniversary of an IMPORTANT discovery ... 41 years ago!
