The other half has bought a few hundred square metres of land fronting on to a decent road, and within about three hundred metres of local schools and shops.
Here's some pics of where we'll be building our house (which will be sited on a raised 'platform' to ensure freedom from flooding).

Make sure you build in plenty of parking and easy access. Your neighbors are likely to end up being melon shacks along the side of the road in a few years, and this will bring in the trikes.A sniper tower may be a good idea to build now
Nice land though, pity to ruin it with a house. Why not just live naked in the fields as nature intended?

Just a small bit of advice. The area where you build the house, have that area treated for termites, will save you a lot of grief in the future.

I will fit out the interior though... as I do still love hammering, sawing and screwing.
