Should Lasers Be Classed As "Offensive Weapons"?

To be honest ... ... it isn't something I've ever given ANY (previous) thought to.

But apparently, the British Airline Pilots' Association is thoroughly convinced of the risks posed by *beams emitted from laser pointers on account of *their deleterious effects on the eyesight of cockpit staff ... and is calling for them to be classified as offensive weapons:

Having read this article, they most definitely should!

Yes, and make the offenders pay compensation... by breaking rocks in a quarry if necessary.

Personally, I'd have the s hands cut off.

Having used a high powered laser pointer at my work for the last few years, I think this is a load of guff!!
The chance of a person actually blinding or interrupting a pilot's concentration is very small... as is the chance of the laser user actually hitting the pilot in the eye.
If you want your dreams to come true ...... first you have to wake up
